Stuart Law has more than four decades of experience in insurance regulatory matters as well as insurance claims, coverage opinions, workers’ compensation and insurance coverage defense. The firm has served as general counsel for two major North Carolina mutual insurance companies as well as the statutorily created North Carolina Self-Insurance Security Association since inception.
Throughout our history, the firm has represented insurance companies as well as North Carolina group self-insurers from licensure through the conversion and merger to mutual insurance companies. Since the 1990s, Stuart Law has either represented or been involved in most of the transition of more than 30 North Carolina group self-insurers. Stuart Law has broad experience in reviewing and providing coverage opinions, representing the interest of insurers in third-party actions. The insurance regulatory practice has included corporate, claims and securities work.
