Jim Stuart’s housing finance practice is built upon his 13 years of service as general counsel to the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and over $2 billion in housing transaction closings. His insurance practice began over his 24-year tenure as general counsel to Builders Mutual Insurance Company and its predecessors.
Cathy Stuart began as a law clerk and continued as a litigator in both state and federal courts representing government agencies, tax-exempt organizations, and later served as general counsel to the U.S. Olympic Festival where the focus was on risk management and intellectual property rights. That experience served as a springboard for insurance regulatory work as general counsel to various insurers and the North Carolina Self-Insurance Security Association.
